This type of destinations, fulfilling the expectations of those who identify with the winter holidays the sport of Alpine skiing.
The need for significant economic investment for the renovation and expansion of the offer skiing facilities has led to the development of three different configurations of supply winter:
- Consortia aggregation of ski areas - medium small: their birth was dictated by the inability of individual targets to meet operating costs and renewal of facilities and runways needed to be competitive.
Madonna di Campiglio is an example: the target is recognized as a ski resort on its own while being in fact part of a combination (Skirama Dolomites) that allows you to ski in different resorts in a single pass.
- Destinations that rely on a diversification of the winter ski resorts are children, who were unwilling or unable to run after the model of integrated development of the major stations. In Trentino Alto Adige, but not only, there are numerous examples: Villnoessertal, Rittnerhorn, Panarotta, Passo Brocon - Marande etc..
The need for write off the economic investment has resulted in a continuous rise in prices of daily, making skiing more and more expensive.
to continued innovation in the supply system over the past decade have been joined by numerous changes in tourism demand. They have emerged new ways of understanding a winter holiday is no longer solely related to skiing, but also to other sporting activities such as snowboarding, ski touring and snowshoeing in winter. Besides sports have grown in importance as reasons for the holiday wellness, the 'food and wine , physical activity aimed at psycho-physical .
Some destinations minors, the true microcosms of skiing, did not follow the model of tourism development of the great alpine destinations, but have maintained a tender of the original characters and authentic . In these places the main attraction element is not represented only by skiing disconnected from the characteristics of the territory, but by the chance to experience the mountain as such. What the visitor experience is alive whose main components are the environment and the mountain landscape, traditions and local culture, no matter Bid quality tourism.
The desire to make room for these small resorts was the reason that drove us to confront a guide aimed at those who have the desire to explore a way "different" to experience the mountains in winter .
The guide leads the reader to the discovery of 36 ski resorts in Trentino Alto Adige who have embraced this alternative dimension of skiing, the area and enhancing its offer in skiing is only one component. These stations are small - medium are small jewels that also differ with regard to the price-competitiveness of day. All this makes them suitable for families, groups of friends, experienced skiers and beginners of all ages who want to enjoy skiing and other outdoor activities, discovering popular and less known corners of the territory.
